EditPilot for Resolve — Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 21, 2026

EditPilot for Resolve ("EditPilot") is provided by Nebula36 Technologies LLC, located at San Marcos, Texas, United States - our full postal address is published here when EditPilot goes on sale ("we," "us," or "our").

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when other companies may process it, and the choices and rights available to you.

The short version

Your videos, audio, projects, and transcripts:
Stay on your computer. We do not receive them.

Your account:
We store information needed to create and manage your account, including your name, email address, marketing preferences, and the computers connected to your account.

Payments:
Payments are handled by the store you purchase from, such as Gumroad or aescripts. We do not receive your full card or bank account details.

Your license:
Your license is checked through our license service. The license service does not store your email address or IP address.

Analytics and advertising:
The EditPilot application contains no advertising tracking, no usage analytics and no automatic crash reporting. Our website is separate: it sets no cookies unless you accept them, and if you do, cookies from Meta and Google may be used to measure our advertising, show you our advertisements elsewhere, and understand how the website is used. You can change that choice at any time.

Selling your information:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it. We do not sell your email address to anyone, for any price, ever. If you join our waitlist, that address is used once — to tell you when EditPilot goes on sale — and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Connecting your own AI service:
Optional. If you connect OpenAI or Anthropic, supported information is sent directly from your computer to the provider you selected. If you use Ollama locally, that information remains on your computer.

1. Information that stays on your computer

EditPilot performs its media processing locally on your PC.

The following information is processed locally and is not sent to EditPilot:

  • your video and audio files;
  • finished videos created by EditPilot;
  • transcripts generated from your audio;
  • footage analysis, including silences, takes, faces, masks, depth information, color measurements, tracking data, and similar analysis;
  • projects, presets, settings, edit plans, and cache files.

EditPilot writes finished files alongside your own footage and stores temporary working files in its local cache folder. You can view and clear these files from Settings.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Your account

An EditPilot account is required to use EditPilot.

Depending on how you create and use your account, we may store:

Name and email address:
Used to identify your account, sign you in, provide the service, and contact you about your account.

Password, if you create one:
Used to authenticate your account. Passwords are stored in hashed form by our account provider, and we cannot read them.

Third-party sign-in information:
If you choose to sign in with Google, GitHub, Apple, or Facebook, you sign in on that provider's own page and we never see your password for that provider. The provider shares your name, email address, and basic profile information (such as your account identifier with that provider and, where available, a profile-picture link), which our account provider stores to identify your account. If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email address, we receive a private relay address from Apple instead of your real one.

Marketing preferences:
We record whether you agreed to receive news or promotional messages, what wording you agreed to, and when you gave consent.

Connected computers:
We store information needed to show which computers are signed in, manage device access, and help prevent account sharing.

For connected computers, we may store a randomly generated device identifier, the computer name reported by Windows, and the dates the computer was first and last used.

Accounts are currently intended for use on up to three computers.

Our account provider may also maintain security logs containing technical information associated with sign-ins, such as IP address and application information. It keeps these logs for a limited period under its own retention rules.

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we generally process account information because it is necessary to provide the service you requested, because you gave consent, or because we have a legitimate interest in protecting accounts and preventing misuse.

2.2 Emails

We may send transactional emails necessary to operate your account, including:

  • email-address confirmation;
  • password creation or reset messages;
  • account security notifications;
  • plan, license, or service-related notices.

We send promotional or marketing emails only when you have opted in.

You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe option included in those emails.

2.3 The waitlist

Before EditPilot goes on sale, our website offers a waitlist. If you choose to join it, you give us one thing: your email address.

We use it for one purpose: to tell you, once, when EditPilot goes on sale. It is not a newsletter, we do not sell or share it, and it is not used to advertise to you anywhere else.

We also record which button you used and the date you joined, so that we know what people were interested in and so that nobody is emailed twice.

We do not store your IP address. To stop automated abuse of the form we keep a one-way scrambled form of it for up to an hour, which cannot be turned back into your address, and then it is gone.

You can ask us to remove you at any time by emailing support@editpilotdavinci.com">support@editpilotdavinci.com, and we remove the whole record rather than marking it inactive. Joining the waitlist does not create an EditPilot account.

2.4 Purchases and payments

Paid EditPilot plans may be purchased through Gumroad, including purchases initiated through our website, or through aescripts.

The store you purchase from processes your payment, applicable taxes, and related transaction information under its own privacy policy.

EditPilot does not receive your full payment-card or bank-account details.

We receive information necessary to provide and manage your purchase, which may include:

  • the email address associated with the purchase;
  • the plan purchased;
  • an order or license reference;
  • whether the purchase is active;
  • renewal status;
  • refund status;
  • dispute or chargeback status.

2.5 License activation

When you activate a paid EditPilot plan, the application checks your license through our license service.

The license service may store:

  • a one-way hash of your license key;
  • an encrypted copy of the license key used only when necessary to verify the purchase with the store;
  • your plan;
  • billing period;
  • expiry date;
  • identifiers for activated computers;
  • the dates activated computers were first and last seen.

The license service does not store your email address or IP address.

To prevent abuse, it may temporarily maintain request counters that expire after approximately one hour.

A license file stored locally on your PC identifies the purchase associated with that installation.

2.6 Messages and announcements

EditPilot may display service announcements, feature updates, maintenance notices, and offers through its Messages board.

The same messages are available to customers generally.

We do not record which individual customers have read particular messages.

2.7 Support

If you contact us by email, we may keep your message and our response so that we can provide support and maintain appropriate support records.

EditPilot can also create a support report on your computer.

The report:

  • is created locally;
  • is never sent automatically;
  • may contain EditPilot logs;
  • may contain technical information about your computer;
  • may contain file paths associated with files EditPilot worked with;
  • may therefore include your name or project names if those appear in file paths.

The report does not include your media files, license key, or application settings.

You may inspect the report before choosing whether to send it.

3. Downloads from third-party services

Some EditPilot features require software components or AI model files to be downloaded the first time they are used.

These files may be downloaded directly from:

Hugging Face:
AI model files.

GitHub:
Software tools, Python runtime components, and timing engines.

Python Package Index and PyTorch:
AI runtime components.

Meta:
AI model files.

EditPilot does not intentionally send your footage, transcripts, or project information to these services.

However, as with an ordinary internet download, the server providing the file may receive technical connection information such as your IP address and process it under its own privacy policy.

Where supported by the implementation, EditPilot verifies downloaded files using recorded checksums or fixed versions before using them.

EditPilot also uses a version of Google's MediaPipe that does not transmit usage telemetry.

EditPilot does not currently check for updates over the internet. If an automatic update check is added, we will update this policy before it is turned on.

4. Connecting your own AI service

Connecting an external AI service is optional.

You may choose to connect:

  • OpenAI;
  • Anthropic;
  • Ollama running locally on your computer.

When you connect an external AI provider:

  • you choose the provider;
  • you supply your own API key or account;
  • EditPilot may send information such as the transcript, detected silences, takes, and shot list directly from your computer to that provider;
  • EditPilot does not send your original video or audio files;
  • the information is processed under your agreement with the provider and that provider's privacy policy;
  • the information does not pass through EditPilot's servers, and we do not receive it.

If you use Ollama, the AI model runs locally on your computer and the information remains on your computer.

API keys stored by EditPilot are encrypted using Windows data protection so that they are available only to the applicable Windows user.

EditPilot remains usable without connecting an external AI provider.

5. Information we do not collect

EditPilot does not collect:

  • your original footage or audio;
  • locally generated transcripts;
  • EditPilot projects;
  • finished videos;
  • advertising identifiers (in the application; see section 6 for the website);
  • precise location information;
  • general application-usage analytics (in the application; the website may use them if you accept — see section 6);
  • automatic crash reports.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Cross-context behavioral advertising. The EditPilot application does none. On our website, advertising cookies — only if you accept them — can amount to "sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising" under California law and to targeted advertising under other U.S. state laws. Where they are in use you can refuse them from the banner, change your mind later from Cookie choices in the footer, and use the rights in section 11. We do not sell personal information for money anywhere.

6. Cookies and the website

This section is about our website. The EditPilot application is covered by the rest of this policy.

6.1 Nothing is set until you choose

Our website sets no cookies and no similar identifiers before you accept them. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind on a first visit. If advertising is switched on, you are asked first, with Accept and Reject offered equally, and nothing loads until you say yes.

If you reject, or simply close the banner, nothing is loaded and nothing is stored beyond a record of that choice itself.

6.2 What we store to remember your choice

Whichever you pick, your browser keeps a small record of the choice, on your own device, so you are not asked on every page. It contains only the choice and when it was made, and it is not sent to us.

6.3 If you accept advertising cookies

If you accept, these two companies may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser:

  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — the Meta pixel. One pixel covers both.
  • Google — the Google tag, which depending on how the account is set up can measure how the website is used as well as build advertising audiences.

They are used to:

  • measure whether an advertisement led to a visit or a purchase;
  • show you EditPilot advertisements on other websites and applications ("retargeting"); and
  • for Google, understand in general terms how people move through our website.

We do not advertise on YouTube from this website: our YouTube channel is linked inside Google Ads, so the only thing this website loads for Google is the Google tag above.

They receive the pages you visit on our site, your IP address, your browser and device details, and — where their own account systems recognize you — an identifier that lets them match that activity to you. They act under their own privacy policies, which are linked in our sub-processor list, and they may combine what they see with information they already hold about you.

If you type your details into a form on our website, Meta's pixel may also send a scrambled (hashed) form of what you typed - such as an email address - so that Meta can recognise you as one of its users. This is Meta's "advanced matching", it happens only if you accepted cookies, and it applies only to what you enter on our own site.

Our website has one form: the waitlist, where you can leave your email address to be told when EditPilot goes on sale. Everything else happens elsewhere - you buy from the store's own page and you contact us by email, and neither passes through this pixel.

We never send them your EditPilot account, your license, or anything at all about your footage or your edits.

6.4 Changing your mind

Cookie choices in the footer of every page reopens the banner, and a rejection takes effect immediately: existing advertising cookies are no longer used by us, and you can delete them in your browser's own settings. You can also use the browser's "do not track" and similar signals; where the law requires us to honor an opt-out preference signal, we do.

6.5 The application does not use cookies

EditPilot on your computer sets no cookies. It keeps your signed-in session in an encrypted file on that computer (section 10). Its window remembers one thing in the browser storage the window itself provides — which announcements you have dismissed — and everything else it keeps, such as your settings and your own word lists, is an ordinary file in EditPilot's folder on your computer. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else, and none of it is used for advertising.

7. Service providers and other companies

We use a limited number of service providers to operate EditPilot.

Each provider receives only the information reasonably necessary to provide its service.

A current list of these providers, what they do, and where applicable where information is processed is available in our:

Sub-processors

Gumroad and aescripts process purchases as independent sellers or commerce providers under their own privacy practices.

We may also disclose information:

  • when required by law;
  • to protect the safety of individuals;
  • to protect our legal rights;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of the business.

If ownership of EditPilot changes, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

8. Where information is stored

Our account infrastructure is currently hosted in Canada.

Some service providers may process information in other countries, including the United States.

Where required by applicable law, international transfers of personal information will be protected using appropriate legal safeguards.

9. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, accounting, security, and dispute-resolution requirements.

Account information:
Until the account is deleted, then removed within 30 days.

Marketing consent records:
3 years after consent is withdrawn.

Connected computers:
Until the computer is removed or the account is deleted.

License records:
For the life of the license and 7 years afterward where required for tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes.

Waitlist:
Until EditPilot goes on sale and the one announcement email has been sent, or until you ask to be removed, whichever comes first. The list is then deleted.

Abuse-prevention counters:
Approximately one hour.

Support emails:
3 years.

10. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.

These include, where applicable:

  • hashed passwords;
  • encrypted connections;
  • Windows-protected storage for locally stored authentication information and AI credentials;
  • hashed license identifiers;
  • encrypted license-verification information;
  • access controls and account-security protections.

No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

If we become aware of a personal-data breach that requires notification under applicable law, we will provide the required notice.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including the right to:

  • access it;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • receive a copy of it;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • withdraw consent.

You may withdraw marketing consent at any time.

Please contact us from the email address associated with your account when possible so that we can verify your request.

We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

You will not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

You may also have the right to complain to the applicable privacy or data-protection authority.

Deleting your account

You can delete your EditPilot account yourself, in the app: open Account, type your account's email address in the "Your EditPilot account" row, press Delete my account twice, and enter your password if you have not entered it in the last 15 minutes.

Deleting your account permanently removes your name, email address, sign-in details (including any linked Google, GitHub, Apple or Facebook sign-in), your marketing-email choice, and the list of computers signed in to your account. It cannot be undone.

Deleting your account does not:

  • cancel a subscription. Your purchase and any subscription are handled by the store you bought from, and continue until you cancel them there;
  • delete your purchase record, which that store holds under its own privacy policy;
  • delete files on your computer. Use Delete my data on the same screen to remove what EditPilot keeps on your computer.

For California and other applicable U.S. state privacy laws: we do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. If you accept advertising cookies on our website, that use can count as sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law and as targeted advertising under other state laws — you can refuse it from the banner, and change your mind at any time from Cookie choices in the footer of every page, which is our "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control. Nothing you do with that choice affects your EditPilot account, your license, or your work.

12. Children

EditPilot is not intended for children.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, or older where the law in your country sets a higher age for using online services without a parent's consent, and old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live to purchase a paid plan.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child in circumstances where parental or other legally required consent was necessary, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When we do, we will update the effective date at the top.

If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide notice through EditPilot, by email, or through another appropriate method before the change takes effect where required by law.
