Features

Everything EditPilot does.

Every feature on this page is in the 14-day free trial. Not a limited preview of it — all of it, with nothing metered and no watermark. Cancel before it ends and pay nothing.

EditPilot is a separate Windows application that works alongside DaVinci Resolve. You choose the job, review the result, and Resolve builds it on a new timeline. It works with the free edition of DaVinci Resolve as well as Studio, and every one of these runs on your own computer.

Editing

Cutting the recording down to what is worth watching.

Remove SilenceFinds the pauses and takes them out, without chewing into the ends of spoken words.
Remove Filler WordsFinds um, uh, like and the rest, shows you every one, and removes the ones you choose.
Custom Word RemovalGive it your own list. Remove the words or mute them, whichever the edit needs.
Remove Repeated TakesSpots where you said the same thing twice and keeps the take you meant to keep.
J/L CutsLets the audio lead or trail the picture across a cut, which is what makes an edit stop feeling mechanical.
Create Rough CutRuns the cleanup steps together in one pass and hands back a first assembly.
Auto StyleVaries the framing at your cuts so a talking head stops looking like one locked-off shot.
AutoZoomPunches in where the delivery lifts, and back out when it settles.
Captions, transcripts and titles

Words on screen, and the text behind them.

Generate CaptionsCaptions from your own audio, as a native Resolve caption track.
Caption StylesCaption looks that survive the trip into Resolve, rendered rather than left to Resolve Free, which cannot style them.
TranscriptEvery word with its timing, editable, or bring a script you already wrote.
Chapters and MarkersFinds where the subject changes and marks it on the timeline.
TitlesAnimated text, drawn by EditPilot and delivered as an overlay.
Motion GraphicsCharts and graphics that move, for the parts of a video that need a number on screen.
Framing and format

Getting the same edit onto different screens.

Format and ReframeTakes one edit to vertical, square or wide without rebuilding it.
Smart LayoutsTwo clips in one frame: split screen, stacked, or picture in picture.
ScenesPicture in picture that moves, for reactions and screen recordings.
Create ShortsFinds the moments worth posting in a long recording and builds them as vertical cuts.
Auto AnglesCuts between your camera angles. Arrange the angles in Resolve the way you already would — stack the clips and mute the ones you do not want — and EditPilot reads that arrangement straight out of the timeline instead of making you rebuild it. You see the cut before anything is rendered. For interviews, podcasts, bands, weddings and anything shot on more than one camera.
Picture

What the footage looks like when it is done.

AI ColorBalances a shot and keeps a scene consistent, measured rather than guessed.
LooksCinematic color treatments, applied as real LUTs you can still adjust.
Lens FXFlares, light leaks and glass character, generated rather than stock footage.
TransitionsDissolves, whips, zoom blurs and film burns, rendered between your two clips.
UpscaleMore resolution and more detail, for footage that was shot smaller than you now need.
RotoscopeIsolates a subject from the background and tracks it through the shot.
Background SwapPut your subject somewhere else. It uses the matte Rotoscope already made rather than starting its own, so what you isolated is what gets kept.
Item SwapCover a tracked object with something else and keep it covered as the shot moves. Coverage is measured and reported, so you are told when it slips rather than finding out on playback.
DepthReads how far things are from camera, so effects can respect the scene.
Audio

The half of video that people actually notice.

Audio PresetsVoice cleanup, echo reduction and smoothing, rendered into a new copy. Your original file is never changed.
Workflow

Doing it once instead of twenty times.

Batch ProcessingPuts a whole folder through the same operation.
Editing PresetsSaves the settings that suit your kind of content and reuses them everywhere.
Asset LibraryKeeps track of your own backgrounds, objects and overlays.
Workflow ChainsSeveral operations run together as one pass over the clip, in the order that makes sense.
Connect an AI AssistantConnect Claude or ChatGPT and let it drive EditPilot the way you would. EditPilot writes the setup into the assistant's own configuration, after a backup, keeping everything else you have connected. It runs on your computer with no network port open, and uses the same operations the window does, so your plan applies unchanged.
The short version

A separate app, not a plugin.

EditPilot does not install into DaVinci Resolve and does not change it. It prepares the edit, and Resolve builds it when you run the EditPilot script from the Scripts menu. That one step is what lets EditPilot support the free edition of Resolve, which allows no outside program to drive it.
