for DaVinci Resolve

Application information page. The application name shown on the Google consent screen is EditPilot.

EditPilot is a desktop application for DaVinci Resolve.

EditPilot is a Windows desktop application that works alongside Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve. It automates the repetitive cutting, cleanup and processing work in a video edit, then puts the result back where it belongs: on the Resolve timeline.

It runs on the editor's own computer and works on the footage already in their Resolve project. The processing, including the AI models EditPilot uses, runs locally on that machine.

What EditPilot does

An editor chooses a task, EditPilot performs it against the footage in their Resolve project, and the result is returned to Resolve as a timeline, a set of markers, captions or adjusted clips.

Why EditPilot offers Sign in with Google

An EditPilot account holds a customer's licence and the list of computers that licence covers, so that both follow them from one machine to another. An account can be created with an email address and a password, or by signing in with an existing Google account.

Sign in with Google is used for authentication only. It identifies the EditPilot account. It is not used to reach any other Google service.

What Google provides to EditPilot

What EditPilot does not request

EditPilot requests no scopes beyond that basic sign-in information. It cannot read Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Contacts, Photos or YouTube, and it does not ask for permission to.

Sign-in happens on Google's own page. EditPilot never sees a Google password. Access can be withdrawn at any time from myaccount.google.com/permissions.

How information is handled

Video, audio, projects and transcripts stay on the customer's computer. EditPilot does not upload the footage being edited, and we never receive it.

What we do hold is the account itself: name, email address, sign-in details, the computers signed in to the account, and licence status. It is used to operate the account and to contact the account holder about it. Account records are stored by our account provider, Supabase.

The Privacy Policy sets all of this out in full, including a section written specifically about Google sign-in and Google user data, how long information is kept, and how an account is deleted.
